With a 36-2 record and a TSSAA Class AAA state title, the White Station boys basketball team has cemented its place among the nation's elite teams.

The Spartans are ranked No. 9 nationally in USA Today's end-of-season Super 25 boys ranking, released Tuesday. White Station, which won the prestigious Beach Ball Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C., in December, is also ranked 11th nationally in the final Student Sports Fab 50 poll.

White Station is the first Tennessee boys basketball team to finish a season in USA Today's Super 25 since White County finished the 1998-99 season at No. 18.

Last year, the Division 2 state-champion Briarcrest girls team finished No. 9 in the Super 25 girls poll.
